Intro

I choose to write to share with family and friends and myself by putting my words onto paper (or digitally online). I can look back when I am older at the memories and be able to still share it with my loved ones. I choose to write and blog knowing I do not want to repeat my past mistake from being involved in the hurricane of 2005 and choosing not to bring my beloved items. I lost a lot of pictures and belongings as a child during the storm and I know I can not change back time to record every favorite memory I had or carry all the albums of photos and videos of my family and my twin. Creating this blog allows me to feel safe and know I can always have a backup so I will never forget and loose a precious memory.

New Year 2016

New Year and New Exciting things are coming my way for me and my family. It means it is getting closer to finally choose between the two main schools to transfer to (UT Austin and UTD) at the end of the semester and really decide what I want to do career wise. A lot of hard choices that I have to make soon that will change my course in life. Also this year brings new adventures and trips with family and friends.

  • 2016 Here We Go:
    • Before this year, I had a lot of good memories but of all the adventures, this year has to be the best so far knowing there was a lot I did not expect to have done. Some of the major adventures I truly want to remember: Hot Air Ballooning in Waco, Bungee Jumping off a platform, free falling down 150 ft.~ , paint-balling for our birthday, and Petroleum Mixer in Houston meeting all of the executives and the IPAA President and of course our trip in the beginning of the year to our Hometown in Mississippi.
  • Time to Get Real:
    • By the end of the semester, it will mark my halfway mark to graduating and finally being able to achieve my Engineering degree. But the real hard choice still remain- Which school? I have always wanted to go to UT Austin for several years now. I guess at the end of this week I will know where I end up going.
    • From being in a school that taught me about geology and getting the privileges to meet a lot of wonderful engineers ranging from reservoir engineers, civil engineers, petroleum engineers, and petro-physicists. I am so thankful for the opportunity to get an externship at one of the top oil energy companies- EOG Resources. They have truly inspired me and have taught me a lot during my time there. Considering the oil downfall, I have decided for a while to do mechanical engineering, which will be smarter for me considering it can be more expandable in any industry.
  • Jumping out of a plane? Say What...?!
    • This year calls a challenge to step up the game from last year´s ¨crazy¨ adventures. I am truly excited for our family cruise to the Bahamas because it will be our first official trip out of the states and our official vacation trip ever. I am excited for what our family will choose for extra excursions. Who knows maybe we choose swimming with the dolphins altogether or play lazy on the cruise :P
    • For our 21st birthday, we have decided to go sky diving 17,500 ft. ~ high (3.3 miles). It´s funny because we both have never been on a plane and the first time we go on a plane is where we have to jump out of it.
    • First official out of the state trip with friends!: For our summer trip, we have rented a beach house at one of the nicest and whitest sand beach- Destin, Florida. I am mostly excited to finally try parasailing. I have always wanted to try it, to fly over and maybe see exotic sea animals under the clear blue water.
This year has been a great start and with every new year came with old memories and challenges that have created who I am today. I have worked so hard to get where I am today and I am only working harder to get where I need to be. Bring it on 2016!
